Two-Tier
Adding a database management system extends the pure desktop
scenario by allowing QuantOffice to cache the downloaded data for quicker
subsequent use. This layout enables QuantOffice to access more data faster. At
the same time, it reduces the throughput requirement imposed on the connection
between the user’s desktop and the data provider’s service. Finally, in
Security Master Application, the presence of a local snapshot of the financial
data locally has value in itself, by allowing any enterprise application to
access the data easily.
