Three-Tier (Application Server)
The two-tier deployment is inadequate when any of the following factors take
place:
1. The amount of processing required exceeds the capabilities of a desktop
computer.
2. Many users need to use QuantOffice, and equipping each of them with a
sufficiently powerful desktop system is impractical.
3. The amount of data is huge, and connecting each user with the database with
a sufficiently fast and secure network is impractical.
To solve the above problems, the QuantServer component can be moved to a
high-powered cluster of servers. The deployment in that case has the following
